I read that as not romanticizing people, but also not condemning them either.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4708293341776725992.post-576204445479515822012-08-17T21:48:00.938-06:002012-08-17T21:48:00.938-06:00With such controversy surrounding these sorts of f...With such controversy surrounding these sorts of figures how do you think it is best for them to be remembered as they often are still thought of as heroes? Should their view which are found so deplorable be left out of it, or addressed, or do this views trump their work all together?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4708293341776725992.post-29590175860541869702012-08-17T17:58:53.674-06:002012-08-17T17:58:53.674-06:00Most definitely, but I feel as if the famous five ...Most definitely, but I feel as if the famous five have been romanticized in the public eye and I prefer to see it as it is. While I commend the end result of their actions, they as persons were not without their flaws which should not be forgotten.kuhcnelysawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02127164016225754396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4708293341776725992.post-58297039234797998852012-08-17T13:42:22.699-06:002012-08-17T13:42:22.699-06:00I really do get what you mean about feeling like a...I really do get what you mean about feeling like a lot of the early famous feminists were hypocrites. But I really do think that they were of their own time. A lot of the early feminists were 'maternal feminists' - women who had a set of beliefs that some could argue are not 'feminist' at all! Or at least not in the way that we view feminism today. It's always hard to gauge value when change is constant - like the definitions of equality, feminism, etc.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4708293341776725992.post-82265940015788447972012-08-16T20:19:49.861-06:002012-08-16T20:19:49.861-06:00In my EDPS 410 class we had debate about what does...In my EDPS 410 class we had debate about what does equality mean and everyone had their own defination. I describe equality as being treated and treat everyone equal and fairly. During Murphy and McClung period, it was extremely challenging for women to raise their voices but Murphy and McClung fought for their rights and for what they beliefed. They spend all their energy and time on their belief and did not focus on the general society, i guess sometimes, that's why you u call people in politics "politicians"khushbohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07059458103695719122noreply@blogger.com
